Your body keeps the score, for now
There is a day coming, where as children of God we will live in bodies that have never been touched by abuse. There will be a day where the pain that your body holds onto will be fully wiped clean. Your trauma will lose even that power over you.
loving you is actually not easy
An uncomfortable conversation to have, but loving someone with trauma is actually not easy.
Be careful what you say
The things we say in anger or the comments we make without considering others are things we should handle with great responsibility.
disco balls for Jesus
The broken pieces of who we are and our story God can place together intentionally to beautifully reflect His goodness. We are designed to reflect His light into the darkest of this world.
just don’t say it
I do believe that a lot of these comments have come from Christians with good intentions, but I think they fail to accurately reflect God’s heart.
So here goes my request to please stop saying:
A Christian Approach to Triggers
Acknowledging and harnessing the strategies that the Lord has designed us to need is honoring to the way He has designed us.
make it right
Just because your sin caused another person harm does not place you beyond the grace of God.
eat the candy
There is something precious about the delight children get out of candy. There is validity to recognizing what your body needs and making sure that you are getting your nutrients, but there is a difference between honoring God by caring for your body and clinging to an idol, or being trapped by lies of the devil.
changing seasons
If you had asked me this summer what was going on in my life I wouldn’t have had a real answer for you.
BFTG (best friends through grief)
There is something that I find deeply intimate about friends who walk through grief with you. Grief is a complex emotion and doesn’t happen in any specific timeline. There is such beauty in the assurance that in Heaven God will wipe away every tear, but while we are here there is a reality that grief tends to linger (and sometimes stays for the rest of our lives here).
warfare of busy
You don’t usually consider that spiritual warfare might come in the form of a mouse.
suicide awareness month
There isn’t an easy way to talk about suicide. There are so many things I would want to say to anyone struggling and I don’t know what to say first. This is my heart for anyone who doesn’t want to be here anymore.
my endo story
I’ve had a lot of people ask about my experience with endometriosis. Here’s a summary of my past 9 months.
