Your body keeps the score, for now
There is a day coming, where as children of God we will live in bodies that have never been touched by abuse. There will be a day where the pain that your body holds onto will be fully wiped clean. Your trauma will lose even that power over you.
loving you is actually not easy
An uncomfortable conversation to have, but loving someone with trauma is actually not easy.
Be careful what you say
The things we say in anger or the comments we make without considering others are things we should handle with great responsibility.
disco balls for Jesus
The broken pieces of who we are and our story God can place together intentionally to beautifully reflect His goodness. We are designed to reflect His light into the darkest of this world.
just don’t say it
I do believe that a lot of these comments have come from Christians with good intentions, but I think they fail to accurately reflect God’s heart.
So here goes my request to please stop saying:
A Christian Approach to Triggers
Acknowledging and harnessing the strategies that the Lord has designed us to need is honoring to the way He has designed us.
make it right
Just because your sin caused another person harm does not place you beyond the grace of God.
eat the candy
There is something precious about the delight children get out of candy. There is validity to recognizing what your body needs and making sure that you are getting your nutrients, but there is a difference between honoring God by caring for your body and clinging to an idol, or being trapped by lies of the devil.
